Steve McStea, Director of Advantage Basements & Cellar Company Limited, is a is a specialist in basement construction and structural conversions. With extensive experience in delivering high-quality residential basement projects, Steve has built a strong reputation for his expertise in complex underground construction and property improvement. Based in London, he is known for providing clear, practical advice to homeowners, often highlighting the importance of working with experienced, established contractors when undertaking specialist projects. His hands-on approach and in-depth industry knowledge ensure every project is delivered to the highest standard, from initial planning through to completion.

Manu Pojar
BUILDING WORKS DIRECTOR
Manu has been a valued member of Advantage Basements for over 15 years. Starting his career with the company as a site structural foreman, his extensive construction knowledge, practical experience, and leadership skills enabled him to progress through the business and become Co-Director of the company.
He oversees the structural side of all projects, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. His hands-on approach and attention to detail help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality.
As a certified waterproofing and drainage specialist, Manu also brings valuable expertise in basement waterproofing systems and drainage solutions. His experience, technical knowledge, and commitment to excellence play a key role in the successful delivery of every project.
Bianka Oscai
COMPANY SECRETARY
Bianka began her career in 2008 as a Personal Assistant to the Quantity Surveyor, quickly demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to progression. After just three months, she was promoted to Company Secretary, taking on full responsibility for the company's essential paperwork, licensing, and payroll operations.
Between 2016 and 2021, Bianka significantly expanded her financial expertise, mastering QuickBooks before successfully transitioning the business to Xero to streamline financial workflows.Throughout her tenure, she has become the central pillar of the company’s daily operations expertly managing job-specific licensing, establishing vital credit trade accounts, and maintaining seamless communication with suppliers.
Today, Bianka serves as the trusted right hand to each of the directors, seamlessly coordinating administrative, financial, and operational tasks across the business.
CONTRACTS DIRECTOR
David Waddington
David began his career in 2011 as a van driver at Advantage, quickly demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to progression. Between 2013 and 2016, he advanced into the role of Procurement Manager, where he developed a comprehensive understanding of materials and supply chain operations. In 2017, David completed his Health & Safety training, achieving a NEBOSH qualification in Management of Health & Safety, before going on to serve as Chief Health & Safety Officer from 2017 to 2019. He then took on the role of Senior Project Manager from 2020 to 2021, where he was responsible for liaising with clients on high-end finishes, coordinating with site teams, ensuring compliance with building control regulations, and managing waterproofing systems (Type A and Type C). Since 2022, David has been Contracts Director, overseeing all contractual aspects of projects, managing variations, maintaining programme timelines, and ensuring appropriate insurance cover is in place across the business.
PROJECT MANAGER
Darsh Chudasama
Darsh is a construction project manager with a background in civil engineering and over five years’ experience delivering residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects across London, including high-rise developments, new builds, and complex basement schemes with a focus on environmentally conscious construction.
He has supported the delivery of high-value projects - coordinating daily site activities for 10+ operatives and multiple subcontractors, ensuring efficient on-site operations. Darsh manages RFIs, drawings, submittals, and project documentation, maintaining accurate tracking and timely responses throughout the project lifecycle.
He monitors programme progress, providing regular reporting to support on-time delivery. He also assists with cost estimation, variation tracking, subcontractor claims, and material control to support effective budget management.
On site, Darsh conducts inspections, reviews workmanship, and ensures compliance with quality standards and HSE requirements. For Darsh, successful project delivery is built on clear communication, accountability, and strong collaboration alongside technical expertise.
PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT
Jangveer Kaur
Jangveer is a London-based residential architect and Principal Architect at Advantage Basements, delivering projects from pre-planning through to fit-out and completion. She supports clients across every stage of the process, developing planning strategies, coordinating engineers, and preparing CTMP and CMP documentation, alongside clear, buildable drawing packages.
Her work extends into detailed interior and fit-out design, including bespoke joinery, ensuring each project is carefully resolved and executed to a high standard on site. She takes a hands-on, detail-focused approach to delivery, helping translate design intent into practical, buildable outcomes.
With a background in research-led architecture and published work in recognised journals and magazines, she brings a thoughtful and considered perspective to every project, balancing technical precision with design quality.
